At Sag Harbor Elementary, we believe that when we all work together, amazing things can happen. That’s why we’re always looking for new ways to involve parents and caregivers in our PTA activities. Whether you have a few hours to spare or just a few minutes, there’s a volunteer opportunity that’s perfect for you.
Why Volunteer?
Volunteering with the PTA isn’t just about giving your time—it’s about making a difference in our school community. When you volunteer, you’re helping to create a richer, more supportive environment for all our students. Plus, it’s a great way to meet other parents, connect with teachers, and get a closer look at what’s happening at school.
And don’t worry—volunteering with the PTA doesn’t mean you’re signing up for a full-time commitment. We know everyone’s schedule is different, which is why we offer a variety of ways to get involved, no matter how much (or how little) time you have to give.
Volunteer Opportunities That Fit Your Schedule
Here’s a look at some of the ways you can lend a hand, whether you’ve got a few minutes or a few hours:
1. Help Out at Events (A Few Hours)Love the excitement of a school event? We’re always looking for volunteers to help set up, run, and clean up after events like the Fall Festival, Family Movie Night, and Spring Fling. Whether you’re manning a booth, serving snacks, or just helping to keep things running smoothly, your time and energy make these events possible.
2. Join a Committee (Flexible Time Commitment)If you’re interested in getting more involved, consider joining one of our committees. From fundraising to event planning, our committees tackle important projects throughout the year. You can choose a committee that matches your interests and availability, and contribute in a way that fits your schedule.
3. Lend a Hand from Home (A Few Minutes)Short on time but still want to help? There are plenty of ways to volunteer from the comfort of your own home. You can assist with tasks like sending out emails, making phone calls, or even managing our social media. These small contributions add up to a big impact!
4. Share Your Skills (On Your Own Time)Do you have a special skill or talent? Whether it’s graphic design, photography, writing, or something else entirely, we’d love to have your expertise. There are always opportunities to use your skills to benefit the PTA and our school community.
